BABY STEP

Let’s take a cue from Frankie and choose to look behind us with a better attitude:

“REGRETS, I've had a few. But then again, TOO FEW TO MENTION.”

Because when we really think about it, there have been very few regrets. The problem happens when we harp on those same few. Only then does it feel like we’ve achieved a lifetime of muck-ups. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely ready to break free from the endless cycle of Woulda. Shoulda. Coulda. Didn’t. :(

You see, regret is the one state of mind that will not only stop us from moving forward, it will also methodically and forcefully pull us back to where we were to keep us stuck where we are.

Regret is like cement.

When you first step in wet cement, you think about what a mess you’re in. But as you stand there worrying about how to get the cement off your shoes, it slowly begins to solidify. And before you know it, you’re permanently planted in a block of concrete so thick only a jackhammer can set you free.

Well, then, allow me to be that jackhammer for you. Take this paraphrased (present-tense) Baby Step version of Frankie’s iconic anthem and belt it out whenever you need to get yourself unstuck

I’ll face it all, and I’ll stand tall. And I’ll do it MY WAY.
