What you say to yourself matters...a lot. Change your VOCAB, change your LIFE.
VOCAB RE-DEFINED:
Choose v Decide
Here’s how I see the difference between these two synonyms:
CHOOSE is to make a choice – where you select one over the other option.
DECIDE is to make a commitment – where you select one and only one option and forego the rest.
Let’s face it, whether you make that decision that’s been rolling around in your brain or not, there will still be an outcome.
Here’s what I mean: If you delay paying the electric bill, then you’ll be sitting in the dark.
So why not opt for the outcome you desire most and Baby Step your way toward that? Because doing means accomplishing.
After all, even Yoda preached the same message:
“Do or do not. There is no try.”
VOCAB AFFIRMATION TO PRACTICE:
The more mindful I am about my decisions, the more delightful my outcomes will be.
VOCAB BABY STEP ASSIGNMENT:
Today’s assignment is a combo deal. It’s your Baby Step plus your Affirmation all in one.
VOCAB WEEKLY JOURNAL ENTRY:
Write down this week’s vocab word. If you’re ambitious, you can include the updated definition (see above section).
Skip a few lines then write down this week’s affirmation to practice twice daily – once upon waking and once before bed.
Track your progress. Acknowledge when you catch yourself using the new definition of the word. Give yourself a “star” on your calendar or brag to anyone who will listen!
